A growing HVAC company in the Des Moines Metro area is seeking an experienced Lead HVAC New Construction Installer to join its New Construction team. This position is ideal for an experienced installer who is ready to take ownership of projects in the field-not simply complete assigned tasks. The Lead Installer will oversee installation activities, support and develop apprentices and helpers, coordinate with project leadership, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

• Lead HVAC rough-in, equipment setting, trim, startup, and completion activities.
• Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, ventilation equipment, duct systems, refrigerant piping, drains, controls, and related HVAC components.
• Read and interpret construction plans, mechanical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Plan daily field activities and coordinate labor, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Direct, support, and mentor apprentices, helpers, and other installers.
• Teach proper installation techniques and reinforce quality standards.
• Identify jobsite issues and communicate them to project leadership.
• Coordinate professionally with builders, general contractors, project managers, other trades, and team members.
• Ensure installations meet project specifications, manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and quality standards.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites.
• Help minimize callbacks and rework through quality control and attention to detail.
• Complete required job documentation and communicate project progress.
• Take ownership of assigned projects from field startup through successful completion.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of strong technical skills, field leadership experience, accountability, and professionalism.

• Previous HVAC installation and/or new-construction experience.
• Ability to independently perform and lead residential HVAC installations.
• Strong knowledge of ductwork and HVAC installation practices.
• Ability to read plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Experience with refrigerant piping, brazing, evacuation, and system startup.
• Working knowledge of electrical and HVAC control wiring.
• Ability to troubleshoot installation and startup issues.
• Experience directing or mentoring apprentices, helpers, or installers.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to work effectively with builders, contractors, customers, and coworkers.
• EPA 608 certification preferred.
• Applicable Iowa HVAC trade credentials are preferred.
