Job Purpose
The Youth Build Case Manager/Family Advocate serves as a bridge among participants, families, school staff, service providers, and the community to ensure students and families have the supports necessary to thrive and successfully complete the Youth Build program. Consistent with the U.S. Department of Labor Youth Build model, this position supports participants across education, occupational skills training, leadership development, community service, work readiness, and transition planning.
The role combines individualized coaching, family engagement, resiliency instruction, case management, supportive service coordination, and community partnership development to remove barriers, strengthen persistence, and promote program completion, and successful transition to post-secondary placement and retention.

- Utilize Intelli Spark resources to assess participants and determine pre- and post-assessment scores across the six domains of resiliency.
- Implement the curriculum for identified Transformational Micro-Credentials that support Resiliency, Initiative, Collaboration and Professionalism.
- Administer the TABE screening assessment to monitor participant academic growth and chart Measurable Skills Gains (MSG).
- Develop, implement, and regularly update Individual Success Plans aligned with participants' goals, including clearly defined milestones toward successful Youth Build completion.
- Monitor participant progress, attendance, engagement, persistence, and participation across Youth Build activities; adjust support plans and implement timely interventions when participants are at risk of falling behind or exiting before completion.
- Conduct prompt outreach and individualized re‑engagement planning for participants who miss services, disengage, or demonstrate other indicators that may jeopardize retention and completion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and their families and build trusting relationships that encourage persistence, accountability, and personal growth.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with appropriate service providers and community agencies with special emphasis on issues related to ss barriers related to housing, transportation, childcare, healthcare, mental health, employment, and other community needs that may interfere with participation, persistence, or successful program completion.
- Support participants in developing self‑efficacy, emotional regulation, communication, and life skills necessary for academic, workplace, and personal success.
- Assist with the recruitment and enrollment.
- Collaborate with Youth Build Career Navigator to support YB graduates during postsecondary placement to maximize retention, median earnings, and employer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain social platforms to maximize contact with Coalition YB network of alumni.
- Prepare and maintain required participant records, reports, and supporting documentation in alignment with Youth Build grant requirements, organizational procedures, and applicable performance accountability standards.
- Enter complete and timely case notes and participant information into the Youth Build Grantee Performance Management System (GPMS).
