We are seeking an experienced platform engineer to help evolve our agentic AI capabilities. This role will focus on introducing foundational platforms that enable autonomous, AI‑driven workflows, enhance the agentic engineering experience, and provide shared capabilities that teams can build on.

• Elevate Artificial Intelligence practices across Engineering at Wellmark.
• Build, deploy, and optimize autonomous agents using LLMs, MCPs, and tools.
• Design and scale RAG pipelines, vector search systems, and LLM evaluation workflows.
• Create AI agents with frameworks such as Lang Chain, Auto Gen, Llama Index, or Lang Graph.
• Ingest and process unstructured/structured data (parsing, chunking, embeddings, retrieval).
• Develop intuitive user experiences powered by LLMs and AI agents for real‑time workflows.
• Integrate enterprise AI technologies such as Claude, GPT, ChatGPT Enterprise, Copilot, and Nova.
• Implement observability, governance, and intentional AI practices in compliance with regulations.

• 5+ years of experience building large‑scale, real‑time distributed systems and API services.
• 6 years of experience deploying scalable and intentional AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud).
• Experience designing, developing, delivering, and supporting AI services.
• Experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g., LLM inference, similarity search and vector databases, guardrails, memory) using Python, Node, Java, or Golang.
• Passion for staying up to date on the latest AI news and AI systems, and applying novel techniques in an enterprise environment.

• Bachelor's Degree or direct and applicable work experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience to include any combination of the following:
• Development experience:
  Angular 2 (or newer), NodeJS (or newer), Type Script, C#, .NET, SQL.
• Providing innovative solutions to complex issues.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in IT infrastructure, architecture design, operations.
• Proven ability to adapt to major changes in work tasks or work environment.
• Informal leadership experience typically gained through leading projects.
• Demonstrated experience coaching/mentoring others by providing guidance and feedback to help an employee or groups of employees strengthen their knowledge and skills to accomplish a task or solve a problem.
• Proven experience with designing technical architecture and staying abreast of existing and emerging technologies.
• Consulting with stakeholders to understand needs and provide advice, guiding individuals or groups to accomplish work, reach consensus or take action.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving/troubleshooting skills (conceptual, technical, IT) – breaks down problems and identifies all facets, including hidden or tricky aspects, to find root‑cause, generates a range of solutions and courses of action with benefits, costs, and risks, and tests proposed solutions before proceeding.
• Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written – articulates; communicates information/concepts clearly and concisely to individuals or groups; delivers presentations suited to stakeholder needs; listens and responds appropriately.
