Staff Engineer Commercial Technologies Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Work closely with internal team and technical lead on implementation of design.
• Work effectively within large, matrixed project teams.
• Collaborate with internal peers following Cardinal Health’s software development lifecycle.
• Lead small to mid-sized technical initiatives and provide technical direction and input.
• Present live demos to senior business partners, unit CTO and senior leadership on a multi-million-dollar initiative.
• Utilize development skills to build (code) and unit test new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include code builds and documented unit test results.
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Articulate issues, accurately identify solution options and communicate the best course of action to internal stakeholders.
• Enforce sound development practices and ensure quality delivery of enterprise solutions.
• Maintain a flexible and proactive work environment to facilitate rapid response to changing project requirements and innovate ways to meet mission goals.

• 4–8 years of experience (preferred).
• BS or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Background in developing applications in J2EE, Java Web services (Micro Service/Rest Service).
• Experience with multiple development languages including Java, Angular, Spring Boot, Google Cloud.
• Experience in an Agile environment.

• Apply comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects.
• May contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
• Work on complex projects of large scope.
• Develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
• Provide innovative solutions consistent with organization objectives.
• Complete work, independently receiving general guidance on new projects.
• Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives.
• May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues.

Anticipated salary range: $94,900 – $135,600.
