Position Summary
Part‑time Faculty – Early Childhood Education at Highline College, Washington. Teaching assignments include evenings, weekends, online, and in‑person courses. The department coordinator reviews applications to fill needs as they arise.
Responsibilities- Create a welcoming, supportive learning environment and use evidence‑based practices to improve student success.
- Engage in self‑reflective practice and collaborate to implement strategies that close educational gaps.
- Attend department and advisory committee meetings, and community events as requested.
- Participate in ongoing professional development; maintain required certifications (e.g., Vocational‑Technical Certification).
Pay is $1,238.38–$1,326.13 per credit hour, based on the number of classes taught and experience.
QualificationsMinimum qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in early childhood education, education, human development, social work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience working with children ages birth to eight and/or families in an early childhood setting.
- Pending degrees must be completed by September 2025 and verified by a letter from the granting institution.
Desired qualifications:
- Fluency in English/Spanish or English/Somali.
- Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of inclusive and special‑education practices through a disability justice lens.
- Experience teaching at the higher‑education level or providing professional development in teaching and learning.
- Experience supervising or supporting ECE practitioners in practicum placements.
- Commitment to fair educational practices.

- Practice student‑centered instruction with curriculum relevant to students.
