GENERAL SUMMARY
This is an open continuous application process for part‑time faculty – physics positions at Highline College. The department coordinator reviews applications to fill needs as they arise, with vacancies identified ahead of time or notified on short notice. Salary is based on the number of credits taught, currently $1293.65–1385.43 per credit hour.

- Summer 2026 – PHYS 203 – Waves, Thermodynamics and Modern Topics Essential Tasks
- Provide instruction to students to promote effective learning.
- Ensure course content aligns with department guidelines.
- Maintain communication with the department coordinator and faculty.
- Meet certification requirements, including vocational and professional licensing if applicable.
- Assist students with educational planning and direct them to campus resources.
- Pursue professional development to stay current in teaching fields.
- Comply with applicable state and federal laws.
- Maintain a standard of ethical behavior in professional duties.
- Submit required institutional and state records and reports on time.
- Assume responsibility for care and safekeeping of college supplies and equipment.
- Master’s degree or higher in physics, physics‑engineering, or astronomy.
- One year of undergraduate teaching experience, including community college, university, or teaching assistant experience.
Applicants must disclose any substantiated findings or current investigations related to sexual misconduct at current or past employment, as required by Washington state law.
