Aerospace Shot Peen Assistant - 1st Shift

Schedule Type: 1st Shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m.

- 2:30 p.m.)

Salary Range for Position

$21.00 - $22.00. The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to your relevant experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other employees. Position

Summary

Employees in this position will use a variety of methods to prepare parts for shot peening prior to applying plating and other coatings. Shot Peen Assistants will be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program. Shot Peen Assistants perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with experienced Shot Peen Inspectors to complete work and prioritize tasks.
  • Learn to follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Shot Peen Inspectors.
  • Learn general review of paperwork to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
  • Learn to prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning.
  • Learn to perform pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
  • Learn to follow Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Must follow safety precautions as trained.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
  • Ability to read/write communicate in English with other employees, customers, and auditors.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.
Education & Experience

1-2 years in an aerospace production and/or similar manufacturing environment.

* The position requires participation in the FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program, including an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.*
