Job Summary
Wage range: $24 to $27/hour depending on experience.
Schedule:
Full-time, 5 days per week. Must be available for both AM and PM shifts. Shifts will end no later than 8:00 PM.
Under general supervision, the Dining Room Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the dining room and supervises front-of-house dining team members to ensure exceptional service, resident satisfaction, and compliance with food safety and service standards. This role coordinates dining room activities, provides training and coaching to team members, supports service excellence, and serves as a resource for residents, guests, and staff.
Reports to the Director, Dining Services or Assistant Director of Dining (where applicable).
Essential Functions:

- Lead and support the dining team during daily service.
- Work hands‑on in the Bistro and Dining Room, including serving and assisting residents and guests.
- Support catering and special events, including setup, service, breakdown, and event execution.
- Assist with scheduling, training, service standards, and team accountability.
- Respond to resident and guest needs and ensure a welcoming dining experience.
- Partner with the Dining Director and culinary team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Exercises judgment related to daily dining room operations, staffing assignments, service delivery, resident satisfaction, and team member performance.
- Supervises front‑of‑house dining team members and coordinates daily workflow.
- Provides coaching, training, and performance feedback and participates in corrective action processes in collaboration with the Dining Room Manager.
- Assists with development and implementation of operational procedures and service standards.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with food service, safety, sanitation, and customer service requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- Minimum six (6) months of supervisory, lead, or management experience in dining services, hospitality, food service, healthcare, senior living, or a related environment.
- Previous hospitality, restaurant, catering, or senior living experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Hands‑on, team‑oriented approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Weekend availability required
- Prior supervisory experience in senior living, hospitality, healthcare dining, restaurant, country club, or hotel environments.
- Serv Safe Certification and/or Food Handler Certification.
- Experience training and developing front‑of‑house dining staff.
Physical Requirements:
- Works in kitchen and healthcare dining environments with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, noise, odors, cleaning chemicals, and food preparation equipment.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, stretching, and grasping throughout the workday.
- Ability to work extended periods in food service and hospitality environments.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Frequent interaction with residents, guests, team members, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
- Must maintain professional appearance and grooming standards.
