Collections Specialist
We are seeking a Collections Specialist with strong collections experience for a client in Rosemont, IL. Ideal candidates will have a background in collections, accounts receivable, cash applications, customer account reconciliation, and following up on outstanding balances. Experience generating reports, analyzing aging, and working extensively in Excel is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and follow up on past-due invoices
- Contact customers via phone and email to secure payment and resolve outstanding balances
- Review and maintain aging reports, prioritizing collection activities accordingly
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and unapplied cash
- Reconcile customer accounts and document collection efforts
- Partner with internal teams including AR, Customer Service, and Sales to resolve payment issues
- Generate and analyze collection and aging reports in Excel
- Assist with cash applications and other Accounts Receivable-related activities as needed
- Maintain accurate notes and records within the ERP/accounting system
