Job Description

Oakton College is looking for an enthusiastic Part‑time Onsite Job Coach to assist students who are participating in an Introduction to Hospitality course. This program, now in its second year, provides neurodiverse students who are enrolled in transitional programs with an opportunity to have a paid internship in the hotel industry. In this short‑term position, the Onsite Job Coach will assist hotel staff with guiding and managing students during their four‑week engagement.

Functions of the Position
  • The primary role of this position is to assist in maintaining an environment conducive to learning and working
  • Assist hotel staff with student management
  • Work collaboratively with hotel GM and Managers
Requirements
  • Illinois Paraprofessional license, substitute teaching license, professional Educator license, or Certified Behavioral Therapist
  • Experience assisting with special education students
  • Willing and able to meet the needs of students
  • Must be enthusiastic about working with a special needs population
  • Willingness to learn and assist in the evolution of this new pilot program

Residence Inn, Wilmette

Days/Times:
Wednesdays and Fridays, 9:30 am–12:30 pm

Pay: $25/hr.

Oakton College's primary location of operation is in the state of Illinois. An “out‑of‑state employee” is defined as an employee of Oakton College whose primary work location is outside of the state of Illinois. State taxes, employment tax, and workers’ compensation provisions vary from state to state and require payroll compliance with these various rules.

Allowable States for Out‑of‑State Employment

All employees must maintain their primary residence in Illinois, Indiana, or a reciprocal state with Illinois. Reciprocal states include Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Illinois has tax agreements with these reciprocal states. Employees may have their primary residence in Indiana since Indiana is adjacent to Illinois.
