The Oakton College Summer STEAM Camp program is looking for enthusiastic and innovative instructor(s) for the 2026 summer camp season. We are looking for instructor(s) to develop and teach hands‑on STEAM curriculum that is fun, yet rigorous and academically challenging for ages 8‑14. We are interested in all STEAM programs and career pathways:
Science, Health services, Technology, Engineering.
- Development of curriculum and preparation of course presentations and instructional materials
- Delivery of instruction, including being prepared for and meeting courses and at scheduled times
- Compliance with departmental and institutional policies and procedures including but not limited to submission of final grades
- Must have a college degree and significant experience with classroom management
- Must have demonstrated experience using technology in teaching, training, or tutoring of youth
- Must have demonstrated experience with the subject matter
- Must have experience developing rigorous hands‑on learning
- Must have the ability to engage diverse learners ages 8‑14 years old
- Morning Sessions 9am‑12pm;
Afternoon sessions 1‑4pm - 6/8‑6/11
- 6/15‑6/18
- 6/23‑6/25 (3‑day camp due to holiday)
- 6/29‑7/2
- 7/13‑7/16
- 7/01‑7/23
- 7/27‑7/30
- 8/3‑8/6
Salary: $50 per hour

An "out‑of‑state employee" is defined as an employee of Oakton College whose primary work location is outside of the state of Illinois. State taxes, employment tax, and worker's compensation provisions vary from state to state and require payroll compliance with these various rules.
All employees must maintain their primary residence in Illinois, Indiana, or a reciprocal state with Illinois. Reciprocal states include Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Illinois has tax agreements with these reciprocal states. Employees may have their primary residence in Indiana since Indiana is adjacent to Illinois.
Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have a hybrid schedule option available after 30 working days.
