Community Consolidated School District 62 in Des Plaines, Illinois is seeking a middle school Family and Consumer Science Teacher at Algonquin Middle School to cover for a leave of absence. The leave coverage will be from approximately October – mid December, 2025.

• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Current valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsement.
• ELL/ESL Endorsement is preferred.
• Experience as a middle school teacher is preferred.

District 62 has approximately 4,500 students in grades preK-8 in 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 early learning center, and 1 year-round, K-8 school.

District 62 substitute teachers earn $165 per day if they hold an Illinois PEL and $155 per day if they hold a substitute license. Annual bonuses are given based on the number of days worked. This position does not include benefits.
