Position: Senior Accountant up to $110K (Hybrid)

Location: Northern Suburbs of Chicago, IL (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $95,000–$110,000 base salary, plus annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week

About the Role

A well-established, growth-oriented organization is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This is a hands-on role for a detail-focused professional who enjoys structured processes and can adapt when priorities shift. The Senior Staff Accountant will manage month-end close, reporting, tax compliance, and audit support, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal controls
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Prepare supporting documents and assist with external audits
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Production, etc.)
  • Document accounting processes and procedures
  • Respond to accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Assist with special projects, such as system implementations and process improvements
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) and experience with ERP/accounting systems
  • Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting audits
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Base salary: $95,000–$110,000 per year
  • Annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance
  • Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis up to 25 days per year (vacation, sick, and paid leave), plus 9 paid holidays
