The Role
The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and compliance of financial statements and reports in accordance with U.S. statutory accounting principles. This role plays a critical leadership function in ensuring timely and accurate financial disclosures, supporting audits, and maintaining strong internal controls. This position also collaborates with actuarial, investment, and regulatory teams to ensure proper financial treatment of insurance-related transactions.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders, regulators, and external auditors.
- Research and interpret new or complex accounting standards and assess their impact on financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with evolving standards.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests, including preparation of audit schedules and responses.
- Work closely with actuarial, claims, investment, and IT teams to ensure accurate financial integration and reporting.
- Support enterprise initiatives such as system upgrades and financial transformation projects.
- Supervise and mentor a team of financial reporting accountants and analysts.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial reporting processes and systems.

Qualifications Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA strongly preferred;
Master’s degree or MBA preferred. - 7–10 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Experience in the life insurance or financial services industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with elevated level of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated persistency and ability to deliver results under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and proofreading skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, etc.
- Must be a flexible self-starter who can prioritize tasks, follow through and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Hybrid office working environment.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours to meet deadlines.
- Occasional travel is required.
