Legal Assistant

Description

Our client, a well-established law firm in the Rosemont area, is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join its team. This position is primarily focused on civil litigation and offers the opportunity to support attorneys handling a variety of matters while working in a collaborative and stable environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation professional with recent experience using Odyssey eFileIL and PACER who is looking to join a firm known for its long-tenured employees and supportive culture.

Responsibilities

+ Support multiple attorneys with a variety of legal and administrative tasks

+ Prepare, revise, and manage pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents

+ Handle state and federal court filings using Odyssey eFileIL and PACER

+ Maintain calendars, deadlines, and case files

+ Assist with discovery, document management, and case organization

+ Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties

+ Support attorneys in a busy litigation practice while ensuring deadlines are met

Requirements

Qualifications

+ 2+ years of legal assistant or paralegal experience

+ Litigation experience required

+ Recent experience using Odyssey eFileIL and PACER is required

+ Strong understanding of court procedures, filing requirements, and litigation deadlines

+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

+

Experience with document management systems and legal software preferred

Compensation & Benefits

+ $75,000-$80,000 base compensation

+ Overtime paid at time-and-a-half after 40 hours
