RolePurpose Statement
We are seeking a hands‑on, energetic Operations Supervisor to lead our Assembly Department team. This role is ideal for someone with manufacturing or production experience in a fast paced, high‑volume environment. The candidate must also be passionate about food safety, quality, and team development.
Main AccountabilitiesSupervisor Responsibility
- Supervise thirty plus union employees responsible for preparing, assembling, and packaging food items in accordance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Ensure meals are accurately prepared and presented for customers or further processing. Supervise daily operations to ensure timely and accurate production and flight catering.
- Organize, schedule, and oversee shift staff to meet labor productivity targets and minimize overtime.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and safety reminders.
- Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory and food safety standards, including FDA, USDA, OSHA, HACCP, and GMP.
- Monitor safety performance and proactively address issues to maintain a safe work environment.
- Identify, document, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Leadership
- Guide, motivate and develop staff within the Human Resources policies.
- Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s).
- Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations.
- Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and Production systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge required.
- One to three years of related work experience required.
- Problem–solving and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results and achieve productivity goals.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, GMP, FDA, USDA, and EPA regulations.
- Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required along with the ability to multi‑task.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows‑based computer applications.
