Position: Pastry Cook (Fine Dining)

Overview

Professional Pastry Cook position at Truluck’s Rosemont location. Minimum five (5) years of culinary experience required, with experience in desserts, baking, and high-volume environments. Must follow recipes and systems with professionalism, accountability, and team commitment.

Compensation

Base pay range: $22.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Required Training / Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent helpful but not required
  • Former culinary schooling preferred
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • Must be able to stand for 9 hours
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds
  • Ability to perform all job functions while wearing the specified uniform, including proper footwear
  • Professional and accurate communication skills
Responsibilities / Duties
  • Check with supervisor on duty for that shift’s prep schedule
  • Always use a recipe book for batch, process, and portion prep
  • Read recipe before starting
  • Weigh and measure all ingredients
  • Ice bath hot recipes before storing and store in walk-in with lid cracked
  • Immediately refrigerate all items prepared
  • Always clean as you go
  • Always use clean food storage containers
  • Always date, label, and rotate products
  • Assume responsibility for freshness and quality of items prepared
  • Follow sanitation and safety procedures
  • Check with Leader on Duty regarding prep done, storage of items, and cleanliness of prep area
  • Pass all general and departmental tests with 90% grade or greater
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Chef/Sous Chef
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Work with teamwork in mind
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Leadership Team
