• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
• Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs, comply with safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions.
• Comply with all laws and company guidelines.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow instructions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
