Picture this: it’s 3:00 p.m. at International Paper’s Des Plaines Container facility. You clock in, review prioritized work orders, and head to the line to run preventive checks. A photo eye signals intermittently—your multimeter confirms an I/O fault, and within minutes you’ve traced it to a loose connector. Later, you swap a gearbox on a conveyor and tweak an HMI screen so operators have clearer diagnostics.

You’ll finish your shift knowing your craftsmanship kept people safe and product flowing.

2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.Pay: $46.54/hr + $0.22 shift differential

Carry out routine preventive maintenance and repairs on production machinery to maximize uptime.

Respond quickly to breakdowns; diagnose and resolve issues to keep plant operations on track.

Troubleshoot across industrial electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Read, manage, and complete maintenance work orders with accuracy and follow-through.

What you bring3+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment.

PLC troubleshooting, I/O diagnostics, and program changeouts.

Hands-on experience with Factory Talk or comparable HMI platforms.

Knowledge of photo eyes, sensors, limit switches, and solenoids.

Expertise repairing and troubleshooting conveyor systems and line controls.

Strong mechanical aptitude: bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes.

Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience.

Comfort with both high and low voltage.

Skilled with a multimeter for rapid electrical diagnosis.

Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs.

Regularly able to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl, and communicate effectively.
