Lead Field Operations Technician

Overview

Mission Springs Water District is currently accepting applications for a Lead Field Operations Technician.

Under direction, leads crews and performs skilled work in the activities of the Field Operations Department including construction, maintenance, customer service, fleet and building maintenance, and meters; performs work on water production, distribution, and storage facilities; assists in training assigned staff; and performs related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and/or experience which would likely provide the necessary knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be graduation from high school or equivalent preferably supplemented by specialized training in water construction and maintenance, or water technology; and four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in water production and/or distribution, water facility maintenance, construction, water service, or water meter installation.

• Possession of a valid Class “A” California driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Possession of a Grade I (T-1) Water Treatment certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) upon appointment.
• Possession of a Grade III (D-3) Water Distribution certificate issued by the SWRCB upon appointment.

Regular Hours (9/80 work schedule): Monday – Thursday, 6:30am to 4:00pm (one half hour lunch). Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm (one half hour lunch). Every other Friday is a day off, for a total of 80 hours per pay period.

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt, regular position with top-notch benefits.
