General Service Automotive Technician
Auto Shop Recruiting is partnering with a busy, high-volume independent automotive repair shop seeking a dependable General Service Technician with strong vehicle knowledge and a thorough approach to inspections. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician ready to grow beyond basic oil changes.
Responsibilities- Perform oil and filter changes
- Complete coolant, brake fluid and other maintenance flush services
- Inspect brakes, tires, fluids, belts, hoses and other vehicle components
- Conduct complete, accurate multipoint vehicle inspections
- Identify maintenance needs, safety concerns and developing mechanical issues
- Clearly document inspection findings for the service team
- Perform tire rotations, battery services and other routine maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
- Follow established shop procedures and quality standards
- Previous experience as a General Service Technician, Lube Technician, Maintenance Technician or Automotive Technician
- Strong understanding of basic vehicle systems and routine maintenance
- Experience performing oil changes and fluid flush services
- Ability to complete thorough inspections—not simply rush vehicles through
- Must own the tools necessary to perform routine automotive maintenance
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Dependable, productive and willing to learn
- Must be available for rotating weekend shifts
Experience Lube Technicians currently working for—or previously employed by—a Nissan or Ford dealership are encouraged to apply.
Compensation- $18–$22 per hour, based on experience and ability
