Primary PurposeThe Family Engagement Coordinator is the face of Uplift's engagement and retention program at the campus level. The goal of the Family Engagement Coordinator is to implement network best practices for engagement and retention by leading campus events, communications, and parent volunteer programs in collaboration with the campus academic staff and campus leadership team.
Duties/Responsibilities Family Engagement- Executes in partnership with school leadership the following:
- Campus family engagement events, to include creating yearly Family Engagement campus calendars.
- Work with families and scholars to facilitate understanding of the School/Parent Compact and Parent Involvement Policy
- Support schools team with conducting Title I Annual Meeting with families
- Train school staff in strategies for Family Engagement
- Perform regular parent-facing school duties as needed (e.g., carline)
- Create and support campus-specific programming, including family on-boarding, Parent Night's, etc.
- Family Engagement Coordinator will also perform parent specific duties such as:
- Facilitate individual check-ins with families, while concurrently prioritizing and differentiating the check-ins with first year scholar families about their experience
- Support the parent volunteer organization (VIP)
- Create and execute approved campus-specific family communications such as:
- Parentlink messaging (email and text)
- Monthly newsletters and event flyers
- Social Media posts
- Facilitate individual follow up for families, inclusive but not limited to:
- Reach out to first-year families regularly to check on overall experience
- Emails, texts, and phone calls for enrollment and re-enrollment reminders throughout the school year.
- Monitor and respond to dedicated campus Family Engagement phone line, as well as parent surveys.
- Identify and engage potential leavers.
- First-year initiatives for current and potential Uplift families and scholars
- Consistent communication while resolving parent concerns.
- Process withdrawal requests:
- Help retain families by incorporating and executing the withdrawal process.
- Input all withdrawal data and tracking for the network and conduct follow up calls to all families who leave without completing the withdrawal questionnaire.
- Determine and identify trends and root causes of withdrawals by campus through data analysis.
- Monitor campus culture and engagement levels and develop an action plan as needed.
- Provide on-campus enrollment assistance, including attending and supporting PAC meetings.
- Assist with required registration documents.
- Work collaboratively with Central Management Office and campus operations staff to confirm start dates for scholars.
- As needed, direct more detailed requests to the enrollment team.
- Support Recruitment team with on-campus tours and identify school leaders and scholar ambassadors
- Identify Parent Ambassadors
- Support campus-based recruitment events where applicable
- Recruits current and new families for campus volunteer opportunities to increase family engagement.
- Regularly attend PK-12 meetings and others supporting family engagement, such as retention updates, brainstorming opportunities, progress tracking, and huddles led by the Family and Scholar Engagement Regional Manager.
- May be assigned duties that align with department and network priorities and goals.
- Personable, empathetic, and approachable; can form connections with families and scholars from various backgrounds with ease
- Positive and energetic attitude that generates excitement and belonging to create a positive and fun school culture for all scholars and families
- Flexible, organized, diligent, and responsible, and can be entrusted to enter scholar/family tracking data with accurate and timeliness
- Has, or is willing to develop, knowledge and familiarity with local community to help identify successful strategies to execute events, communication, and other engagement initiatives
- Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required;
Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. - Experience Requirements:
Previous Uplift campus experience, or familiarity with local Dallas/Fort Worth communities is preferred. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
