Responsibilities
  • Oversee the general administration and operations of all City departments, executing policies, directives, and legislative actions of the Mayor and City Council.
  • Interact with elected officials, boards, and commissions by addressing, implementing, and enforcing all legislative policy decisions; act as a liaison between the council and the public; attend and coordinate council meetings.
  • Work with citizens and city stakeholders by directing and attending advisory committee meetings; develop communication channels; answer public and press inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations by monitoring local, state, and federal legislation; review routine and special reports; recommend initiatives and corrective actions; discuss new ordinances or policies.
  • Outline economic development programs by developing marketing strategies, recruiting businesses and industry, attending meetings and functions, negotiating contracts and agreements, and coordinating related activities.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Public Administration or a related field from an accredited post‑secondary institution.
  • Ten (10) years of related work experience, or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Supplemental Information
  • Knowledge of City policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with City administration, other employees, and the general public.
