Position:
Packaging Operator I
Shift: First Shift
Schedule:
Wednesday-Saturday / 5am-3:30pm
Pay: $18.95
Role PurposeEfficiently operates packaging lines according to established procedures and customer specifications, while meeting all quality standards.
Oversees the activities of associates assigned to specific packing area/product.
Key Accountabilities- Package product into bags, boxes, or totes per customer specifications.
- Document quality checks and enter into the system.
- Read and disseminate information on the product specifications and packaging requirements.
- Assist in training new associates and cross-training backup associates.
- Pull product samples and test product mix, labeling and or weight against specs.
- Follow all safety, environmental and quality guidelines.
- Must be able to perform all duties of packaging operator II.
- Maintain housekeeping duties around packaging equipment and in warehouse.
- Responsible for lockout/tagout of equipment when clearing jams or performing basic maintenance.
- Perform basic adjustments to operating equipment to maintain finished product conformity to specs.
- Repack products into appropriate containers, boxes, or packaging materials per work instructions.
- Inspect products for damage, defects, or inconsistencies before repackaging.
- Ensure proper quantities, labeling, and packaging standards are met.
- Seal, label, and prepare finished repacked products for storage or shipment.
- Follow all quality control guidelines and visual standards.
- Verify product codes, lot numbers, and quantities.
- Report damaged or non-conforming materials to supervisors.
- Maintain high accuracy to prevent shipping or inventory errors.
- Transport materials to and from repack stations as needed.
- Assist with staging products for shipping or storage.
- Load and unload materials manually or using equipment (if trained).
- Keep repacking area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Dispose of packaging waste properly and recycle when applicable.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
