Position:
Packaging Operator I

Shift: First Shift

Schedule:

Wednesday-Saturday / 5am-3:30pm

Pay: $18.95

Role Purpose

Efficiently operates packaging lines according to established procedures and customer specifications, while meeting all quality standards.

Oversees the activities of associates assigned to specific packing area/product.

Key Accountabilities
  • Package product into bags, boxes, or totes per customer specifications.
  • Document quality checks and enter into the system.
  • Read and disseminate information on the product specifications and packaging requirements.
  • Assist in training new associates and cross-training backup associates.
  • Pull product samples and test product mix, labeling and or weight against specs.
  • Follow all safety, environmental and quality guidelines.
  • Must be able to perform all duties of packaging operator II.
  • Maintain housekeeping duties around packaging equipment and in warehouse.
  • Responsible for lockout/tagout of equipment when clearing jams or performing basic maintenance.
  • Perform basic adjustments to operating equipment to maintain finished product conformity to specs.
Repackaging & Product Handling
  • Repack products into appropriate containers, boxes, or packaging materials per work instructions.
  • Inspect products for damage, defects, or inconsistencies before repackaging.
  • Ensure proper quantities, labeling, and packaging standards are met.
  • Seal, label, and prepare finished repacked products for storage or shipment.
Quality & Accuracy
  • Follow all quality control guidelines and visual standards.
  • Verify product codes, lot numbers, and quantities.
  • Report damaged or non-conforming materials to supervisors.
  • Maintain high accuracy to prevent shipping or inventory errors.
Material Movement & Support
  • Transport materials to and from repack stations as needed.
  • Assist with staging products for shipping or storage.
  • Load and unload materials manually or using equipment (if trained).
Work Area Maintenance
  • Keep repacking area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Dispose of packaging waste properly and recycle when applicable.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Required

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
