Job Description:
Job Purpose- The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim. The SANE exam may include a medical‑forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy sexually transmitted infections, photographic documentation, and referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow‑up, support and participation in legal proceedings.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing – BSN preferred
- Valid and current Texas RN license
- Current SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) certification from the Texas Attorney General office or in-progress certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Current TNCC
- Two years of Emergency Department or Acute Care experience, preferred
