This position is responsible for customer service, merchandising and overall success of the store. It maximizes customer and staff satisfaction and helps maintain company policies and procedures. It includes scheduling, maintaining payroll, and maximizing sales each day.

• Delivering outstanding customer service
• Operate within Life is Good/Kitty Hawk Kites core values, mission, and purpose statement
• Careful selection and training of staff
• Maintaining correct amount of staff during various seasons and holidays
• Attending appropriate company functions and/or meetings
• Supervision of staff
• Maintaining the store’s clean, safe, and attractive environment
• Managing staff schedules, opening & closing reports, payroll reports, sales documentation and reports, marketing reports, budget projections, transfer forms and packing slips, supervising merchandising, maintaining stock levels, ensuring daily deposits, upkeep of maintenance needs, and assisting buyers with feedback and current trends

• 3 to 4 years experience in retail and 1 to 2 years of management experience; college degree preferred.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

The work environment is primarily indoors in a climate‑controlled environment, with occasional outdoor duties involving natural elements. The noise level is moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.

Time is spent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. Expect to lift up to 35 lbs. Additional physical demands come from continuous computer work, cash register work, sales floor work, event work, and mail order work.
