Job Overview

The Store Operations Leader is essential in ensuring the safety of our team and pets, enhancing pet parent experiences, executing operational functions, achieving financial goals, and managing human resources throughout the store. This position requires exemplary leadership, a commitment to the company’s culture and strategy, and a focus on providing exceptional service while achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership:

Guide employment decisions including recruiting, hiring, coaching, and performance management.
Foster an open-door environment for associates to voice their opinions and concerns.
Create store schedules and facilitate associate development including training and mentorship.
Empower team members and hold them accountable for their performance.
Effectively communicate updates and changes to team priorities.
Respond to associate feedback and administer any complaints appropriately.
Conduct performance reviews and recognize outstanding staff contributions.

Overall Store

Experience:

Enhance the pet parent experience, ensuring safety and satisfaction for pets in our care.
Address escalated pet parent concerns both in-store and online.
Maintain a positive store environment through continuous improvement of services.
Lead partnership efforts with community groups for events and adoptions.
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Review inventory management to maintain optimal product availability.

Business Management:

Achieve corporate strategies and profitability goals through effective execution of store operations.
Analyze business reports and manage labor and expense budgets.
Implement improvement plans based on performance data.
Create weekly payroll and manage schedules in alignment with store needs.

Qualifications

4-6 years of retail leadership experience in a customer-focused environment.
Full-time availability with flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Proficient in computer applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to maintain composure under pressure.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires standing, walking, climbing, and handling animals. Associates should be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds, with the ability to occasionally lift more than 100 pounds. The work environment may be wet and include exposure to noise, live animals, and pet hair.

This position’s salary ranges from $65,000 to $110,000
