Resolves questions or concernsregardingindividual part processes.
Improves current processes andconductsinvestigations to reduce inefficiencies.

The co-op or intern supports operations by working with the Engineering team tolearn through:
- Directionfromdepartment leadership and engineerstocomplete tasks for multiple projects.
- Assistingtojustify, design, build,test,install, andoperateautomated manufacturing systems.
- Designinganddetailing ofitems within a project with theuseof 2-D CAD and/or 3-D CAD software.
- Writing and editing robotic or PLC programs needed to produce parts for the project or customer.
- Identifyandeliminatesafety and quality risks and root causes.
- Utilizing time studies or pre-determined timing methods such as MTM or MOST tovalidatesetup and run times.
- Assisting with lean manufacturing initiatives and product flow improvements.
- Evaluating historical data on run rates todetermineaccuracy.
- Assisting in creation and evaluation of cost reductions.
- Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be enrolled ina Mechanical,Electrical,Robotics/Automation, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering program at atwo or four year college or university, progressing toward a degree.
Skills Required:
- Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and cause prevention (error proofing) skills.
- Ability to work independently and show strong initiative and ownership of ideas and projects.
- Strong computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Prior manufacturing, especially fabrication and welding, experience is beneficial.

There is sustained exposure to sitting. There is also moderate exposure to Video Data Terminals (VDTs) and moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds).
OTC4 $ 18.67 - $26.12 per hour. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role.
