* Essentia Health St. Mary's - Detroit Lakes is seeking a practitioner (physician assistant or nurse practitioner) interested in a full-time Emergency Medicine position.  Our team-oriented and fast-paced ED provider group consists of board-certified physicians and advanced practice clinicians who collaborate to provide patient-centric care to the area. + 0.9 FTE, Part time status

+ Emergency Medicine coverage will be 8 and 12-hour shifts (64 hours/pay period) rotated in among our other provider schedules

+ Campus supports primary and several specialty care services in the clinic (including a very busy Urgent Care) with the hospital side including a women's/birthing center, MSP, ICU, OR, 24-hour CRNA services, imaging services including CT, MRI and digital mammography and laboratory services

+ Level III Trauma designation - requires certification in ACLS, PALS, and ATLS within six months of start

+ Holiday and weekend rotations

+ Candidates must be able to see patients of all ages

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills; the NP/PA works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals. NP/PAs provide health care to individuals and families, promoting health and preventing disease. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly, as noted in age-related categories and areas of expertise.  

The position requires high customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

** EDUCATION/TRAINING:*
* + Master's or Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelor's/Master's degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.

+ Previous Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience is  
** preferred** !

* ** LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

* + Current licensure as a registered nurse in the appropriate state (if NP).

+ Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.

+ Current certification in CPR

+ National certification in applicable area.

+ Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process before practice.
