Job Description
Location:
Detroit Lakes, MN. Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision‑making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.
Deliver comprehensive pediatric care, including well‑child checkups, immunizations, sports physicals, and adolescent health programs as part of a high‑volume, collaborative primary care team.
Work with one PNP and ten Family Medicine providers in a team‑based primary care group committed to caring for the community’s growing families.
Maintain a full‑time status (1.0 FTE) with 36 patient contact hours and a hospital pediatric call rotation Mon‑Fri 8am‑5pm. Primary care clinic hours with call rotation and occasional weekend coverage.
Collaboratively cover outreach clinics based on department demand at locations including Frazee, Lake Park, Pelican Rapids, and Mahnomen to support CME, vacations, and other staffing needs.
See up to 16–18 patients per day. Perform minimal procedures daily and work effectively within a team.
QualificationsMaster’s or Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.
Pediatric trained and certified through PNCB or ANCC (PPCNP‑BC). Current licensure as a registered nurse (if NP) and as a Nurse Practitioner.
Current certification in CPR and PALS is required;
Essentia will arrange for certification if not current. National certification in the applicable area.
Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process before practicing. Ability to provide high customer service skills and establish positive relationships with patients and colleagues.
