Payroll Specialist (Onsite Role)

Full-Time | Accounting & Finance Department

A growing organization is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for a workforce of approximately 100–200 employees across both union and non‑union groups. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, and confident handling complex payroll scenarios in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process biweekly payroll for 100–200 employees, including union and non‑union groups.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including pay rates, deductions, accruals, benefits, and garnishments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations and union pay requirements.
  • Manage payroll adjustments such as bonuses, retro pay, deductions, and corrections.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and support accounting with payroll‑related journal entries.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and year‑end payroll documentation (W‑2s, 1099s, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate tracking of PTO/leave accruals.
  • Partner with internal departments to resolve payroll questions and support audits.
  • Generate payroll and reporting queries as needed using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Support accounting team with general administrative or finance-related tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands‑on payroll experience.
  • Strong experience with ADP Workforce Now (required).
  • Experience processing payroll for union and non‑union employees.
  • Solid understanding of payroll laws, wage calculations, and multi‑deduction processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting accounting tasks or working closely with finance teams.
  • Familiarity with payroll auditing, reconciliations, or benefits administration.
