Orion Solutions Group is working in search of a Senior Accountant. This role anchors the financial heartbeat of a highly regulated housing and property management environment, where precision, compliance, and leadership directly influence community impact. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accuracy of all journal entries with proper documentation.
- Perform monthly reconciliations and account analyses, including fixed assets.
- Drive month-end close activities and ensure timely completion of supporting schedules and work papers.
- Complete grant reconciliations, including management reporting and financial analysis.
- Prepare monthly and consolidated financial statements.
- Support treasury oversight by reconciling cash activity, updating wire transfers, requesting grant related funding, and developing cash flow forecasts.
- Lead preparation for the annual financial audit and all HUD required reporting.
- Produce weekly cash position reports and manage banking activities, including transfers, cash analysis, and recording fees and interest.
- Review and post bank reconciliations completed by staff.
- Assist with budget preparation, system loading, and ongoing monitoring.
- Maintain departmental SOPs and standardized forms.
- Partner with IT to resolve accounting system issues and enhance workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with governmental/fund accounting, reporting systems, and HUD regulations.
- Inquisitive professional who enjoys researching regulatory updates and proactively asking questions to ensure accuracy.
