Tax Manager
Location: Fully Onsite (South Bend, Indiana)
Salary: $120,000 – $150,000
We’re partnering with a growing organization seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax strategy, compliance, and planning efforts. This is more than a traditional tax role—you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, helping shape key business decisions while identifying opportunities to reduce risk, improve processes, and optimize the company’s tax position.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all federal, state, and local tax compliance activities, ensuring accurate and timely filings.
- Develop and execute proactive tax planning strategies that support business growth and maximize tax efficiencies.
- Research and interpret changes in tax legislation while advising leadership on potential business impacts.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, and Operations to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance across the organization.
- Manage tax provisions, reconciliations, audits, and relationships with external tax advisors and regulatory agencies.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase operational efficiency.
- Support acquisitions, capital projects, and other strategic business initiatives by providing tax guidance and analysis.
- Mentor and develop accounting team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
- CPA designation required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably with a combination of public accounting and private industry.
- Strong expertise in federal, state, and local tax compliance, planning, and strategy.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters to both financial and non-financial leaders.
- Creative, strategic mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax/accounting software.
