SEES Initiative Project Coordinator – Department of Undergraduate Medical Education

Wayne State University is searching for an experienced SEES Initiative Project Coordinator for its Detroit campus location.

Job Purpose

The SEES (Student Engagement, Experience, and Satisfaction) Initiative Project Coordinator serves as a centralized operational lead who integrates School of Medicine (SOM) leadership, student leadership, and relevant stakeholders to triage, execute, track, and transparently communicate progress on student concerns, ensuring accountability, timelines, and follow-through. This position reports to the Assistant Dean Medical Student Affairs.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as primary SEES program contact for receiving all student concerns and inquiries from SOM MD students.
  • Triage concerns using defined criteria (urgency, scope, feasibility, institutional impact) and collaborate with student leadership for prioritization.
  • Identify accountable leaders, establish expectations, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Monitor progress, enforce reporting cadence, and Escalate stalled items or structural barriers to SOM leadership when necessary.
  • Maintain accuracy and clarity of the SEES student‑facing dashboard and website, working with C&IT, Marketing & Communications, or other relevant teams.
  • Function with cross‑departmental authority to coordinate work across medical education, student affairs, admissions, enrollment management, dean’s office, and all other relevant SOM offices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Unique Duties

This is a non‑exempt hourly position. The hourly rate range is $19.79 – $36.82.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate experience (3‑4 years) in a related field.
  • Program/project management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytic and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently without formal instruction.

  • School/College/Division: H0671 – Undergraduate Medical Education.
  • Primary department: H0671.
Employment Details
  • Employment type: Regular Employee – Full Time Staff/Administrative.
  • Compensation: Annual Salary (minimum $38,600, maximum $71,800).
  • Hourly rate: $19.79 – $36.82.
  • Working conditions: Normal office environment.
