Grant and Contract Officer IV, Part-Time
Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Grant and Contract Officer IV, Part-Time at its Detroit campus location.

Position PurposeThe Grant and Contract Officer IV is responsible for providing expertise and guidance to principal investigators, faculty andother staff members through the required cycle of grants, contractsor subcontracts. Serves as the liaison between principal investigators, sponsors, other Sponsored Program Administrationteams, collaborators and/or other involved parties.
Essential FunctionsCollaborate with principal investigators, sponsors, faculty, university staff, and/or collaborators in grant or contractinitiatives.
Assist with grant or contract preparation and submission, making necessary revisions and ensuring proposalaccuracy, completeness and timeliness.
Provide expertise and guidance, ensuring grant and contract adherence to sponsor,government and/or University requirements.
Serve as the University's Authorized Organizational Representative and authorizegrant and contract proposal submissions.
Create, monitor and maintain funds and sub funds in the award and financial systems, ensuring information is accurate, complete,coded correctly and timely.
Report award information to the Board of Governors by maintaining computerized databases for information storage, retrieval andreport preparation.
Serve as the liaison between principal investigators, sponsors,other Sponsored Program Administration teams, collaborators and/orother involved parties. Field and respond to requestsaccordingly.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications EducationBachelor’s degree
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
ExperienceIntermediated (3 to 4 years job-related experience).
Three to five years’ experience working in grant and/or contract administration, including grant or general accounting. Experience in higher education grant administration preferred.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of grant and/or contract administration best practices.
- Ability to interpret and apply grant and contract sponsor,University and departments requirements and/or policies.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Detail oriented with ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively orally and inwriting.
- Ability to effectively negotiate.
- Proficient Microsoft Excel and computer software/databasesskills.
