The Mentor & After school Program Coordinator supports the mission of Alternatives For Girls (AFG) by coordinating mentor programming and implementing licensed school-age child care and Out-of-School Time (OST) services. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, structured, developmentally appropriate, and engaging programming for school-aged youth during after school and summer hours.

• Recruit, screen, and train adult volunteer mentors in accordance with AFG policies and licensing requirements.
• Coordinate mentor-mentee matches and provide ongoing oversight.
• Facilitate supervised mentor-mentee group activities.
• Maintain mentor documentation and logs.

• Plan and facilitate structured after school and summer activities.
• Maintain required staff-to-child ratios and active supervision.
• Support daily routines including arrival, dismissal, meals, and transitions.

• Maintain safety and supervision at all times.
• Use positive behavior guidance techniques.
• Document incidents and concerns as required.

• Maintain attendance records and required licensing documentation.
• Complete case notes, incident reports, and assessments.
• Support licensing inspections and monitoring.

• Communicate program expectations and schedules.
• Support family engagement and attendance.

• Assist with program setup and cleanup.
• Support meal/snack distribution.
• Follow emergency, safety, and mandated reporting procedures.

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years experience in licensed school-age child care or OST programs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
