Mechanical Estimator

Compensation: $80,000 – $100,000 Base Salary (DOE) + Comprehensive Benefits

A well-established mechanical contracting organization is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join its growing preconstruction team. This individual will play a critical role in evaluating commercial and industrial construction projects, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting successful project execution from bid through award.

The ideal candidate possesses strong experience estimating HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, or manufacturing projects. • Review plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents to develop complete project estimates
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal, and mechanical systems
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Analyze labor requirements, equipment costs, materials, and project schedules
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and estimate summaries
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost‑saving alternatives
• Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, vendors, and clients throughout the bidding process
• Attend pre‑bid meetings, site walks, and project review meetings as required
• Maintain estimating databases, pricing information, and historical project cost records
• Support handoff meetings to project management teams following project award
• Ensure estimates align with project specifications, budgets, and company standards

• 3+ years of mechanical estimating experience within commercial and/or industrial construction environments
• Experience estimating one or more of the following:
• HVAC Systems
• Mechanical Piping
• Plumbing Systems
• Process Piping
• Sheet Metal Systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Strong understanding of mechanical construction methods, materials, and labor productivity
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred but not required
• Field experience in mechanical construction is highly valued
