Join a Leading Owner-Side Data Center Development Team

CMC is supporting a leading hyperscale data center developer delivering some of the most advanced mission-critical facilities across North America. We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join the owner's project delivery team and play a key leadership role in the delivery of a large-scale hyperscale data center development in Michigan
.

This is a unique opportunity to join a project during the early planning and preconstruction phases, allowing you to influence project strategy, contractor selection, delivery processes, and execution planning before major construction activities commence. You will ultimately become the lead owner-side representative on site, driving project delivery from preconstruction through completion.

Working alongside an experienced leadership team, you'll gain exposure to one of the industry's most significant data center development programs while helping establish the foundations for long-term project success.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as the lead owner-side representative throughout project delivery
  • Supporting contractor procurement, RFP reviews, and contractor interviews
  • Participating in design reviews and preconstruction planning activities
  • Developing project execution strategies, pull plans, and project governance processes
  • Managing contractor performance and holding delivery teams accountable to project objectives
  • Monitoring schedule performance and driving milestone achievement
  • Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Coordinating contractors, consultants, vendors, utility providers, and stakeholders
  • Leading project meetings, site walks, and field inspections
  • Providing executive-level project updates and progress reporting
  • Supporting quality assurance, commissioning readiness, and turnover activities
  • Helping build and mentor future project team members as the project expands
What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of construction management experience
  • Experience delivering large-scale data center, mission-critical, industrial, manufacturing, or complex commercial projects
  • Previous experience operating in an owner-side or client-representative capacity
  • Strong contractor management and stakeholder coordination experience
  • Experience leading projects through both preconstruction and execution phases
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, planning, and project controls
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to project delivery
Preferred Experience
  • Hyperscale data center construction
  • Greenfield project development
  • Mission-critical facilities
  • Utility and substation infrastructure projects
  • Mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems
  • Commissioning, turnover, and project closeout activities
  • Contractor procurement and preconstruction planning
  • Experience supporting projects for hyperscale operators, developers, or mission-critical contractors is highly advantageous.
Who You Are

You are a highly autonomous construction leader who thrives in fast-paced and evolving project environments. You are comfortable operating with limited direction, building processes from the ground up, and taking ownership of project outcomes.

You enjoy solving problems, driving accountability across project teams, and creating structure within complex construction programs. Most importantly, you are a leader who takes initiative and can be trusted to drive project success from day one.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a major hyperscale development program at the earliest stages and play a pivotal role in shaping how the project is delivered.

You'll work alongside industry-leading professionals, influence key project decisions before construction begins, and establish yourself as the lead owner-side representative on a high-profile data center development. As the project grows, there will be opportunities to help build and lead a wider project delivery team while advancing your career within one of the fastest-growing sectors in construction.
