Senior Project Manager

This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead landmark projects, mentor high-performing teams, and play a key role in the continued growth of one of Detroit’s premier general contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and project teams.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and key project stakeholders.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Identify project risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Lead subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, and buyout processes.
• Review drawings, specifications, and constructability to drive efficient project execution.
• Partner closely with Superintendents to coordinate field operations and maintain project schedules.
• Oversee client communications and serve as the primary point of contact throughout project delivery.
• Mentor and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers.
• Support business development efforts, client retention, and repeat business opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement across project delivery, operational performance, and team development.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects with a general contractor.
• Previous experience as a Senior Project Manager or an experienced Project Manager ready to step into a senior leadership role.
• Proven success delivering large, complex commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, contracts, cost management, and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
• Experience leading and developing project teams.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
