One of our longstanding clients, a well established heavy civil contractor in Detroit, is looking to grow their estimating team with an experienced Estimator. They specialize in delivering earthwork, underground utilities, and asphalt paving projects for public and private clients. The company is known across Michigan for their strong work ethic, technical capability, and delivering quality work.

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to support heavy civil bids and eventually progress into a senior/leadership position. This role is focused primarily on earthwork and site civil estimating. The position works closely with leadership teams and supports smooth handoff to operations.

• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for civil, paving and underground utility projects
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to fully understand scope
• Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Support bid reviews, value engineering, and estimate handoffs
• Coordinate with estimating, project management, and field teams as needed

• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil or sitework estimating
• Strong earthwork, utilities and/or paving background
• Familiarity with civil drawings, paving, and underground utilities
• Experience with Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, AGTEK, and/or Excel preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet bid deadlines
• Clear communication and ability to work within a team environment
