We're Hiring:
Estimator

Are you an experienced construction estimator who enjoys solving complex challenges and building winning project strategies? Taplin is looking for an Estimator to join our growing team and support projects across our environmental and construction services divisions, including Abatement, Energy, Industrial, Remediation, and Underground Infrastructure.

In this role, you'll work closely with operations, project teams, subcontractors, and clients to develop accurate, competitive cost estimates that help drive successful project outcomes.

• Prepare detailed project estimates, takeoffs, and bid packages
• Analyze construction plans, specifications, and contract requirements
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Develop labor, material, and equipment budgets
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost‑saving solutions
• Monitor market conditions and pricing trends
• Support bid submissions, bid bonds, and post‑bid analysis
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth project handoffs
• Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors

• Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and practices
• Experience reviewing plans, specifications, and project documents
• Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software tools
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of estimating experience will be considered
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
