Our client is a commercial design-build construction firm serving clients throughout Michigan. The company specializes in a diverse portfolio of projects that includes industrial facilities, multifamily developments, healthcare environments, retail spaces, office buildings, and other commercial construction projects. Working collaboratively with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, this company emphasizes proactive planning, strong communication, and efficient project delivery while maintaining a focus on quality, schedule, and budget.

As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting project teams throughout the construction lifecycle. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional to gain experience in project management, field operations, subcontractor coordination, and client-facing responsibilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• 1-4 years of experience in commercial construction, internship experience considered.
• Understanding of construction documents, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project controls.
• Ability to assist with project scheduling, document management, procurement tracking, and subcontractor coordination.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software platforms.
• Ability to work effectively with field personnel, clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Desire to grow within a project management career path.
• Valid driver's license and ability to visit project sites as needed.

• Support Project Managers and Superintendents in the successful execution of construction projects.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting notes, and project documentation.
• Assist with procurement and material tracking activities.
• Help maintain project schedules and monitor project milestones.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and clients.
• Track budgets, change orders, and project costs.
• Participate in project meetings and site visits.
• Ensure project documentation is accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Assist with project closeout activities and turnover documentation.
• Promote safety, quality, and client satisfaction throughout project execution.
