Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects for a well-established electrical contractor in the Detroit market. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a proven background managing commercial electrical projects, excels at coordinating field and office operations, and is comfortable overseeing multiple projects while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. Experience with healthcare, higher education, institutional, and other complex commercial projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, manpower forecasts, and cost projections.
  • Oversee project financial performance, including labor productivity, forecasting, billing, change orders, and overall profitability.
  • Coordinate field operations with superintendents, foremen, electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, and general contractors.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation to ensure successful execution.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, commissioning, change orders, and project closeout documentation.
  • Partner with estimating teams during project handoff to ensure a smooth transition into construction.
  • Collaborate with BIM/VDC teams to improve constructability, coordination, and installation planning.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to owners, architects, engineers, and internal leadership.
  • Identify and resolve project challenges while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and project partners throughout the project lifecycle.
