Summary of Role / ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Project Manager supports the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This individual works closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, clients, and design teams to help ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality and safety expectations.
Key responsibilities- Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement activities.
- Manage project documentation, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Track project costs, commitments, and financial reporting.
- Participate in owner, architect, and subcontractor meetings.
- Monitor project schedules and support recovery planning when needed.
- Assist with subcontractor buyout and procurement efforts.
- Maintain accurate project records and reporting.
- Support quality control and project closeout activities.
- Partner with field operations teams to ensure effective communication and project execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Experience supporting commercial construction projects.
- Knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, and project controls.
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Understanding of budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with project management software platforms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
