POSITION SUMMARY :
The student-run news outlet, the Delta Collegiate, is seeking a page designer/illustrator to join our team. Delta College’s student-run media, The Delta Collegiate, is an award-winning news organization run by students, for students, offering a variety of media products including web site, blog, social media, and print publications.
We will work with the successful candidates to create a flexible work schedule of up to 20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING :
- The ideal candidate has experience and proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop
- A knowledge of newspaper layout conventions is preferred, but we will work with the right candidate on this.
- The ideal candidate is also adept at creating computer-generated and hand-drawn illustrations, logos, photo illustrations, and cartoons.
- Must be a team player, be able to meet deadlines, and have a creative flair.
This position begins this semester, but only those who are returning to Delta in the fall and wish to continue the job will be considered.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in InDesign and Photoshop
- Adept at creating computer-generated and hand-drawn illustrations, logos, photo illustrations, and cartoons.
- Interpersonal and professional communication skills
- Prefer students in professional writing, broadcasting or journalism program or those who have prior experience with high school media
- MUST have good organization skills
- Excellent collaborator
- Commitment to uphold the office’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Must be enrolled at Delta College and maintain a minimum of six (6) credit hours during employment.
