The Member Service Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. This position is responsible for providing exceptional service to members in person and by phone, including opening and maintaining accounts, processing deposits and withdrawals, and assisting with loan and product inquiries. The role includes answering questions about credit union services, resolving member issues, and accurately handling financial transactions while adhering to policies and regulations.
The Member Service Representative will use computer systems to update member information, process applications, and access account data, while promoting appropriate financial products and services to meet member needs. This role also involves working collaboratively with team members to support branch operations and contribute to a positive, professional environment.
- Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Communication skills to interact effectively with members and colleagues.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellent Phone Etiquette for handling inbound and outbound calls in a professional manner.
- Candidates should have solid Computer Literacy skills for using banking software, data entry, and basic office applications.
- Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of Finance to support account servicing, transaction processing, and product discussions.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include attention to detail, basic cash-handling experience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; prior experience in banking, credit unions, or retail customer service is preferred.
