Architectural Project Manager - Science, Technology & Industry
Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a licensed Architectural Project Manager to join our Science, Technology, & Industry team in Lansing, Grand Rapids, or Southfield, MI.
OverviewOur team of talented and creative architects work closely as trusted partners with our clients throughout the design process to realize a jointly conceived vision. We offer a full range of services from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction inspection for both full build‑out, renovations and adaptive reuse projects.
Responsibilities- Lead, oversee, supervise, and coordinate architectural project activities.
- Fulfill the role of Project Architect and AOR on most projects; a separate project architect may be assigned if the project size or complexity requires it.
- Ensure the success of the projects under your management.
- Serve as the primary design liaison to the client and oversee construction documents.
- May assign tasks to and oversee the work of design/production staff.
- Work with and collaborate with other CED offices.
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in architecture or equivalent work experience required to maintain licensed architect status.
- 8+ years of experience as a licensed architect in Michigan and/or NCARB certification.
- 5+ years of experience with science, technology, and industry architectural projects (e.g., industrial, labs, manufacturing, distribution centers, etc.).
- Previous use and understanding of AutoCAD and Revit design software with the ability to produce preliminary and schematic designs in AutoCAD;
Revit is highly desired. - Strong business acumen, technical knowledge, coordination skills, and the ability to build a rapport with the project team and client.
- Client‑facing abilities with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to mentor team members on technical and professional skills.
- Previous business development and project management experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites and meetings.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for job‑related communications.
