Position:  Locum Tenens Pediatric Radiologist (Diagnostic Radiology / Nuclear Medicine)

Location:

Detroit, MI 48201 (Detroit healthcare, Michigan radiology jobs)

Setting:  On-site at a Level 1 pediatric facility

Assignment Type:  Locum Tenens / Travel Physician / Pediatric Radiology job

Start Date:

March 23, 2026 (ASAP start available)

Assignment Length:  13 weeks (ongoing need)

Hours per Week:  36

Shifts per Week:  5

Shift Duration:  8-hour evenings

Coverage Need:  1 week per month (ideally Mon–Sun; Thu–Sun considered)

Patient Encounters per

Shift:  Approximately 60

Estimated Weekly Pay:  $6,310–$7,480 (competitive locum tenens pay)

Estimated Credentialing Timeframe:  90 days

Shift Expectations

Monday–Friday:  4:00pm–12:00am on-site; call coverage from 12:00am–8:00am

Saturday/Sunday:  12:00pm–8:00pm on-site; call coverage from 8:00pm–8:00am

Required Qualifications

MD or DO with fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology (fellowship-trained pediatric radiologist)

Board Certified in Radiology (required)

CAQ in Pediatric Radiology preferred or eligible

Valid Michigan medical license required (IMLC not accepted)

BLS certification (required)

Clean malpractice history and case logs required with application

Responsibilities

Provide on-site pediatric radiology coverage during assigned shifts, including scheduled call coverage for pediatric imaging

Interpret pediatric imaging studies: X-ray, ultrasound, STAT CT, and MRI; perform on-site fluoroscopy as needed

Communicate urgent and critical findings promptly to referring clinicians, surgeons, and the multidisciplinary pediatric care team

Collaborate with pediatric clinicians, surgeons, and technologists to support high-quality patient care and pediatric safety

Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to departmental protocols, quality metrics, and patient safety standards

Compensation & Schedule Highlights

Estimated weekly pay: $6,310–$7,480 — competitive market rate for locum tenens pediatric radiologists

Evening on-site shifts, approximately 60 patient encounters per shift

13-week assignment with potential ongoing need—flexible locum tenens scheduling for travel physicians
