Wayne State University is searching for an experiencedAssistant Professor – Teaching – Mathematicsat its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

Teach face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online courses at the undergraduate level as determined in consultation with the Department Chair.

Teach up to 4 courses (12-16 credits) per semester.

Potential for summer teaching opportunities.

Assist program faculty and staff with student recruitment and retention initiatives, program assessment and other duties required to meet organizational needs in undergraduate education.

Participate in student advising and curriculum development.

Serve on department, college, and university committees; participate in departmental activities consistent with and appropriate for good faculty citizenship.

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field.

At least 2 Years teaching experience at the secondary or higher education level.

Working conditions:

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between WSU and the WSU Chapter of the American Association of University Professors, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
