JOB TITLE:
Homebound Teacher (2 non-consecutive hours per week, after school hours)
REPORTS TO:
Director of Special Education
POSTING DATE: 11/4/2024
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Teacher Certification - full approval by the State Board of Education
* Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to listen and to give directions and instructions
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Outstanding communication skills - verbal and written
* A strong commitment to educating students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, as demonstrated by experience with co-teaching or other collaborative delivery models
* Demonstrate ability to implement research-based instructional strategies for math, reading and writing to address academic needs of students
* Knowledge and ability to implement data collection techniques for monitoring student growth
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Maintain lesson plans and student records for attendance, performance and progress with clear objectives
* Assist in maintaining a safe and supportive educational environment
* Exhibit a positive demeanor and support a positive work environment.
* Complete assigned tasks, reports, and other requirements on time
* Collaborate with general education teacher
* Other duties as assigned by administration
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to stand and walk over extended periods of time
* Ability to sit up to for extended periods of time in a work day, and to sit/stand several times in short periods of time.
* Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy items.
